Boggabilla Branch Status
Opened as an unfenced Pioneer Line with speeds as follows:
  • Light engine & trains 25 mph.
  • Two engines coupled together 20 mph.
  • Rail Motors 35 mph.
  • No Headlight during dark 15 mph.

  • Current line classification is, class 3W from Moree to North Star.
    81, 82, G, X, EL and lighter units are allowed 35 kph.
    (At the moment only Branch line units are allowed to run on this line due to the track condition).
    Branch line units are allowed 80 kph.
    As a side note, this line has many 10, 20, 30, and 40 kph speed.
    Anybody who ran a train at 80 kph on this line would have rocks in their head and a death wish.
    This line will need to be re-built from Moree if the inland route proposal ever sees the light of day.
